VESPERTINEFOCUS:
Photography
Visual reinterpretation of Björk's fourth album Vespertine.
INSPIRATION
Knowing that Björk's album deals with focal points of love and sensuality I wanted to explore with flowers in reference to the historic 'loves me, loves me not' game. Also Vespertine in botany relates to a flower that opens or blooms in the evening.
PHOTOGRAPHY
I explored two different types of flowers in my photoshoot. The sound of the album is calming and sensual, also referred to as domestic by Björk herself. She used electronic instruments as well as harps and music boxes. In my photos, I wanted something that was simple and pretty embracing the and believed flowers would omit the sensual floral 'domestic' elements.
